Monkey See

I have wanted to make a sock monkey for years! Lol! My sister has a childhood story around a sock monkey, so I decided I would make her a sock monkey for her 50th birthday. He he…better late than never!

So, here is my purple sock monkey….purple being my sister’s favorite color.

Isn’t he cuuuuuuute? I think so.  I hope my sister likes it, and that she doesn’t read my blog!  ;)

Quilting Love

I finished my first “real” quilt! By “real”, I mean full size. This one is for our queen size bed. It’s a rag quilt, which some call a cheater quilt. But, I gotta tell you…it was quite a project! I have quite a bit of sewing experience, but this was definitely the biggest project I have ever tackled. I have a whole lot more respect for the real quilters out there!

So, I’ve put my sewing machine away for a while, and I’m back to art journaling. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Playing with Barbies!

I have been connecting with my inner child lately. I didn’t expect that to happen when I offered to make some clothes for two little girls’ dolls. I used to spend hours and hours playing with my Barbie dolls when I was a child. My mom taught me to use a sewing machine at about age five, which was my introduction to creating things.

So, I thought I’d share the fruits of my efforts. I also snapped a couple of pics of the happy little recipients. :) . Making them happy made me happy!
