CANDY!

TGIF!  It’s a cloudy day here in Southwestern Ontario, but it’s still nice and warm!  🙂  I completed a couple of cards for some swaps over at Lil’ Scrappers! (www.lilscrappers.ca) These swaps are so much fun.  It’s an ideal way to get your mojo going, and to see others’ creations.  The first one is a card I made, and then I sent the products to (the very talented) Tamara, who created a completely different card with the same products!

Here’s my original card:

I’m really not entirely happy with my card.  But, there are aspects of it that I LOVE – including the Basic Grey, Two Scoops patterned paper!  But, the beauty of this process, is that I got to send similar products to someone else.  In this case, I think Tamara’s card is far superior to mine:

Next, I got to make a card with products that Tamara sent to me.  Remember, I didn’t see Tamara’s card until after I made mine.  In this instance, I love them both!

Here’s Tamara’s:

And, now, mine:

Next, I completed a 3×3 card swap, hosted by my fabulously talented, Lil’ Scrappers DT member, Michy.  For this swap, I completed 10 cards.  11 other participants are doing the same thing.  Michy will be sending each of us 10 DIFFERENT cards from 10 other artists!  FUN!  Here are my cards.  I used some of my little shrink charms for the sentiment!  🙂

So, what do you think?  I like the way it turned out!  Recipe:  Stampin’ up products:  black eyelets; Close to Cocoa stamp ink; cardstock – Kraft card base, shimmery white, and fuschia (that’s not the Stampin’ up name for it…can’t remember what it is lol); markers to colour the image, which I watercoloured using the SU water brush; background stamp is an SU wheel stamp; hemp string is also SU.  Black cs is Bazzill.  Stickles were used for the heart; Uniball Sigma white pen for the dots on the background; shrink plastic charm stamped with a Michael’s acrylic stamp sentiment, using Stazon black ink.  The Hedgie is by Penny Black.  I think that’s it!

And now, BLOG CANDY!  All you have to do is create a card using any one of the cards within this post as inspiration.  Link me to your creation, and I’ll send you a card kit, which will include some of the Hedgehog stamped images, along with a shrink plastic charm, and some cardstock and pp, and embellies.

Thanks for stopping by!  Enjoy your day!

(Another) Shrink Charm Bracelet

Happy Thursday!  It’s a beautiful, sunny day here in Southwestern Ontario!  I haven’t posted in a few days, so I thought I better post something, especially because I met some scrappin’ ladies last night who said they were going to stalk my blog!  😉  So, now the pressure’s on!  I attended a fabulous workshop facilitated by my good friend, Corinne (aka Roxy – check out her blog – http://www.stampingwithroxy.typepad.com/ – she is such a talented lady, and a wonderful person, too!  We made the cutest little scrapbook, which I will share when I finish it!  😉

In the meantime, I thought I’d share a cute little bracelet that I made for my (adopted) niece, Morgan, daughter of Carla (another good friend, and very talented lady – check out her blog, too – http://moralia.wordpress.com/ – she’s offering some blog candy!)

I’ve been branching out into other crafting areas recently, and made some shrink plastic owl charms.  They make the cutest bracelets!

So, that’s all for today.  I’m going out to enjoy this glorious sunny day!  🙂  Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment…it makes me smile!

A couple of cards!!!

So, I FINALLY finished my four (count ’em 4!!!) family photo albums.  I am just LOVING the way they turned out, and can’t wait to give them to my sibs, and my Mom!

I’ve had a couple of card kits sitting on my desk, just waiting to be LOVED!  The first one is from my fabulously talented niece, Michy, who is also a DT member over at Lil’ Scrappers.  Check out her blog – the link is over there —–>

Here’s my card:

Don’t you just love that stamp!  It’s from Stampin’ up.

AND, my second card was made with a card kit from another super-talented friend – AND, another DT member over at Lil’ Scrappers – Carla.  Her blog is also over here—–>

I just love this colour combination – red, black and white is my current fave!  🙂

The stamp is called “Grumpabella” – from Bella’s Stamp line.

AND, last but certainly not least – another slide show of another one of my albums.  It is similar to the first one, but many of the pages are the same layout, and photos as the original, but I changed up the colours and pp/embellies.

Happy Holiday Monday! Fun with Acrylic!

Today is a holiday here in Canada, but it’s c-c-cold outside, which means I am indoors, SCRAPPING!  I need to get some flowers planted, but that isn’t gonna happen today!  lol  I’m continuing to work on my “50 years of family memories” albums – I’m going to make a total of 5.  I completed one, so, now I am making 3 more – thought it would be more time-effective to make them all at the same time, since I’m using the same photos, and similar layouts – just changing the colours, pattern paper, etc.  I’m finding it very interesting to see the difference colour makes!  Here’s what I mean:

These are the four album covers – as you can see, they are identifical layouts, but different colours pp, ribbon, chipboard and embellies.

And here are a couple of double-page layouts from these albums:

I’ve also been playing with acrylic throughout these albums – dividing each century with an acrylic page – I’m using semi-transparent acrylic because that’s all I could find in large sheets that I could cut into different sizes.  I’ve stamped, cut, dry embossed, embellished in a number of creative and (oh so) fun ways!  Here’s a couple of examples – I used those stick-on “outline stickers”.  I’ve got a ton of them that I bought a couple of years ago when they were popular.  It’s always fun to find new ways to use old supplies from my stash!  Makes me a happy camper!  lol

Here’s a close-up view:

Front view:

Reverse side (to show how it looks on the back):

I coloured them in with Sharpies.  The white is a Sharpie, painter.  TFL!  Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment…it makes my day!  😉  lol

Ku Ku Buttons!

I came across this video tutorial for “Ku Ku buttons”, and thought I’d share.  I’ve seen these on cards before, but didn’t know exactly how to make them.  Now I do!  🙂

Shrink Charm Bracelet!

I forgot to take a picture of this charm bracelet before I sent it to my friend, Carla’s daughter, Maria.  BUT, Carla posted a picture on her blog, so now I get to share it with you!  🙂  I guess that’s what you call a toot of a toot, eh?  lol

I made the little charms out of shrink plastic, for those of you who are new to my blog.  I posted a tutorial a while back.  These little charms have gotten a ton of traffic!  If anyone has tried to make some, I would love to see them!  Or, if anyone has used one of my charms on a project, I would love to see that, too!  Anyhoo, here’s my little project.  I think Maria liked it, anyway!  🙂

Here’s the little box I made to put it in.  It’s tiny – only about 2″ in diameter across of the top of the lid.

Here’s the bracelet, and a photo of it on Maria’s cute little wrist!  🙂

A couple of cards!

I know…I’m blogging two days in a row!  lol  I made a couple of cards yesterday – thought I’d share them, since I haven’t made any cards in ages!

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment…it makes my day!  🙂

Eye Candy! Finally!

I know…I’ve been a bad blogger.  BUT, I have been busy working on a family album – 50 years of family memories and photos.  I absolutely LOVE the way it turned out.  I am making one for each of my siblings, and, of course, my Mom – for Mother’s Day.  It’s 6×6, and I divided it up into centuries – the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, etc.  Each section has a “title page” made from acylic.  What a labour of love!  So…I also learned how to make a slide show, as I felt this was probably the best way to showcase this type of project.  Thanks for stopping by!  Please let me know what you think…
