So Inspired by Donna Downey

I just spent a weekend at the Art House Studio in Cambridge, Ontario, with the fabulous Donna Downey.  Her husband, Bill, came with her.  I’m sure he will never be the same after spending the weekend with a bunch of crazy Canadian women!  😉

So, I thought I’d share my projects with you, although they may not be done.  We started the weekend on Friday, with a workshop on Pan Pastels.  Here are my very first Pan Pastel paintings.  🙂

Saturday, we made these cool mixed media journals.  So much fun!  🙂

Saturday evening was “Watercolor Whimsey”.  We used Gelatos by Faber-Castell to make this pretty lady.  She is definitely not finished.  But, I like her hair, and the background.  The flowers, and her face need a little work.  I’ll try to remember to post the finished piece.

Sunday was my favorite class.  We made a series of 3 canvases, using acrylic paints, molding paste, stencils, stamps, and pouring medium.

canvases  I had such a great time, meeting lots of new like-minded people!  The fabulously talented Effy Wild came to the Saturday classes, and we shared a table, and had dinner together.  It was so nice to reconnect with Effy.  She is such a kind, talented woman!  🙂  And, she brought a couple of her recent journals along, so I was able to get up close and personal with her fabulous art.  *LOVE*  I stole these last two photos from her blog.  I hope she doesn’t mind.  😉meanddonname
