More Encaustic

I completed a couple more encaustic pieces that I wanted to share today.  This medium is so unpredictible!  I never know what to expect.  That’s what is so fun about it!  The smell of the melting beeswax  is a bonus!

Encaustic Experiment

Helloooooooo my friends!  Happy Monday!  This is just going to be a quick post.  I’m pretty excited about my newest piece of art.  It’s my first real encaustic piece, and I really like it!  I surprised myself!  I was a little shy at first, about sharing it, because my hubby wasn’t too excited about it…well, he said he liked it, but I could tell he didn’t.  But, he isn’t an artist, so what does he know?  he he  So, I posted it in a couple of my artsy Ning forums, and the response has been fabulous!  It was “featured” on Loving Mixed Media, which means it was bumped forward to the main page!  How cool is that?  I know…maybe I need to get a life, eh?

So, now I’m confident about sharing it on my blog, so here goes!

Different, huh?  Have you ever seen anything like it?  I was insprired by the textural encaustic work of Martin Kline.  Here’s a couple of detail shots:

So….what do you think?  I have a feeling this is going to be one of those things where you will either LOVE it, or HATE it.  When I really think about it, isn’t that what most artists want?  Who wants to be “average”?  Not me!  lol

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I’d love it if you’d leave me a comment.
