Art Journal Kit Giveaway!

In yesterday’s blog post, I blogged about gratitude, (in response to Journal Girl’s vlog)which prompted me to remember that I have not had a giveaway in a long, long time!  There is just something so gratifying about giving back to the creative community.  I would love to give someone an opportunity to join the art journal revolution!  Keeping an art journal, for me, is fun, and therapeutic at the same time.  Many of us use our art as a relaxation/stress management tool, right?  Well, keeping an art journal takes that effect to a whole new level!  It allows you to try out different techniques and products without any pressure at all!  You can choose to keep it to yourself, or to share , but only if you want to!

I have been participating in a series of FREE art journaling workshops, being sponsored by Strathmore.  I often see posts on the message boards from people who wished they could participate, but don’t have the suppllies, or the resources to obtain them.  That makes me so sad!  So, if you would like to give art journaling a go, all you need to do, to have a chance at winning my giveaway, is to post a comment on my blog, telling me, and the blogging world, what you are grateful for.  That’s it!  I will choose one random winner from all the comments left on my blog (on this post), for the next 7 days.  On Saturday May 21, I willl choose a winner.    And, this is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.

So, wanna see what you could win?  Of course you do!  I put this kit together with all of my favourite art journaling supplies.  And, I will probably add more to it by the time I choose a winner!

So far, here is what I am including:

  • A 5 1/2″ x 8″ Pentalic Soft Cover Art Journal (similar to a Moleskine)

  • Six samples of GOLDEN Fluid Acrylic paints in:

Quinacridone Red, Burnt Sienna, Hansa Yellow, Pthalo Blue, Paynes Grey, and Titanium White

  • Assorted (Scrapbooking) Ribbon Tape (Heidi Swapp, I think)

  • A sample size container of Golden Soft Gel Matte Medium

  • Assorted Shape Stencils

  • Permanent fine point (Sharpie and Staples) Markers in black, red, blue, and green

  • White Correction Pen

  • 3 strips of sequin waste – stars, circles, and hearts

  • Tons of collage papers – text, sheet music, scrapbook papers

  • 3 Paint Brushes

  • A sample of Liquitex Gesso

  •      A UHU Glue Stick

  • A Faber-Castel (brand new product) – Gelato in gold

Here are some detail photos of this *yummy* blog candy:

Soooooo……..what do you think?  What are you grateful for?  Leave me a comment, and you could win these goodies!  Remember to check back daily, as I just may add some more stuff!  You have until Saturday, May 21……..only one comment/chance per person, please.  All comments must be left ON THIS POST to be eligible to win.

What a wonderful idea! I am not entering the contest as I have plenty of supplies, but I hope someone who doesn’t and can’t afford them will win. Good luck to all of them.

This is such a generous idea! If I win this, I actually think I’ll give it to my daughter-in-law who would love to have fun supplies like this! (I, too, am blessed with lots of supplies. How wonderful to share and pass it on!) What am I grateful for? I’m grateful for today! and all that it holds. Today: to live and breathe and love and be loved and CREATE and grateful to the Creator!

Kim-that is such a great idea to give away samples! I know that I was intimidated by all the supplies mentioned when I first started checking out journaling blogs. I’d sure love a chance to win. Thanks!

I’m grateful for people like you who are so willing to share. BUT don’t enter me in the giveaway because I do have some journaling supplies so this should go to someone who needs them to get started. It can be so expensive to get started with any new hobby, even art journaling!

Hello – what a brilliant idea! I am a funny gratitu-dee… every minute of every day I appreciate my parents and siblings – SO lucky to have been born into a family of smart, fun, funny people. Same time – I am REALLY happy to be waking up to the realization that I am not constrained by their expectations because as much as I have been loved, I have also been boxed into a set of roles and I am so much more than that. I’m thrilled that I have paid attention at critical moments, like when I first met my now husband and turns out he’s my life partner (whew!) – wasn’t paying him any mind until I took his hand to shake it politely and thank him for joining my friends at a New Year’s party (he came with a friend) and suddenly felt a jolt of electric knowing when I looked him in his deep brown eyes – WOW. And I’m really really grateful for the support of friends – especially when I’m walking out on a limb like I am right now, restarting my business after achieving success the old way and trusting that it’s all coming together on a grand scale. And I am in awe of my teenagers. So. That’s it for now!!!! Amen!

And I’m thankful to Tammy for posting this on Facebook so I could meet you – and yes, I would love love love your generous gift. I am a closet artist and have a dream of creating a spinoff business around creativity – my daughter is applying to art school, so for now, I sit on the sidelines and watch her create! I’d love to jump back in!!!!

Like many of the others I have a studio stuffed with stuff, for which I am grateful, and for my family for making space for my obsessions, and putting up with my insane schedule and general vagueness when working! Please don’t enter me in the giveaway, and I hope you don’t mind if I post a link on my own blog for someone else to fond you generous-ness.

I am so very grateful to wake up each day, to feel the sun on my face, to hear the voices of my love ones, to taste my morning coffee, for a warm bed and blankets, for a job, for a van that is still running after all these years, for another day.

Whow what a generous soul you must be. I have just discovered this way of expression and I have order stuff I want and need from other countries and i have not yet understood how many gadgets there are around.
I am so so so grateful every morning for feeling the lust to express myself through textile/paper and words. Makes everything else make sense. It makes my life.

So kind of you to think of other artists. I have lots of supplies too, but I am so grateful for a dear friend who has a lot of extreme situations in her life with family. She always is the one to rescue and care for others. She used to create but never seems to take time for herself. If I won I’d give her the supplies so she could start again. I think art journaling would be healing for her. I’d tell her everyone at Strathmore is cheering her onto a new beginning.

I’d like to enter, too. I’ve used up almost all of the vintage art supplies my dad left to me, and there’s very little chance I’ll be able to afford replacements when the time comes. A package like this could keep me artmaking for several months more.

I someday want to be in a position where I can pay it forward and send out sweet care packages like this myself.

I am grateful for so many things, but right now foremost in my mind is the fact that my husband is recuperating great (I think) from quadruple bypass surgery on April 01.

Thank you for being so thoughtful to have a give away such as this,

    Joe Ann

What a terrific and generous idea! I came visit from the Strathmore Workshop page and found a give-away.

In the world of art and blogging I am most grateful for people’s generosity. I even blogged about it at one point. Things that I learned because people I never met spent time teaching me and guiding my work I would have never learned without the blogosphere strangers that are now friends. We are a global art village.
